Glenford Jameson

Lawyer & Principal

Glenford’s practice is focused on corporate-commercial and regulatory issues. His business law experience is focused on transactional and commercial matters, including mergers and acquisitions, private equity financing, and a broad range of business law issues, and his regulatory experience involves working with clients to manage permissive processes or enforcement actions by Health Canada or the CFIA in the food context. He has significant industry experience in the food sector, relating to organizations that encounter a high degree of provincial/federal regulation and those that seek to challenge regulatory regimes under which food is produced and sold in Ontario and Canada. His clients include start-ups, not-for-profits, SMEs, governments, and multinationals.

He has co-founded and co-organized the first and largest national food law conference in Canada, which has been held at Schulich School of Law in Halifax, UOttawa Faculty of Law, Faculté de droit de l’Université Laval in Quebec City, University of Toronto’s Faculty of Law, and UBC Law in 2021.

Glenford has taught Canadian Food Law and Regulation at Michigan State University College of Law, as a component of their Global Food Law program. He has spoken at the University of Chicago Law School, lectured at LUISS’s Food Law LLM in Rome, IT, and spoken at many international conferences on Canadian food laws, trade agreements, private certifying bodies, harmonization, and other matters related to food and law.

Glenford is particularly interested by the problems created through the intersection of food, technology, and regulation and he brings this passion to his practice, finding solutions to legal problems faced by his clients.

Prior to founding G.S. Jameson & Company, Glenford worked at a prominent mid-size business law firm in Toronto.
